Sarpsborg 08 fell to a 3-1 home defeat against KFUM Oslo in Eliteserien Round 22 on Friday, September 18. Goals from Kristensen, Hoseth and Gonstad condemned the hosts on a tough night at Sarpsborg Stadion, watched by an attendance of 3,916.

A Difficult Night at Sarpsborg Stadion

Sarpsborg 08 suffered a painful home defeat on Friday evening, going down 1-3 to KFUM Oslo in Eliteserien Round 22. With a capacity crowd of 3,916 inside Sarpsborg Stadion, the hosts found themselves behind early and were unable to recover despite a more spirited second-half showing.

The trouble started in the 24th minute when Bjørn Martin Kristensen put the visitors ahead, finishing off an assist from Martin Tangen Vinjor. Sarpsborg 08 managed to draw level just before the break through a Daniel Karlsbakk penalty in first-half stoppage time, briefly lifting the mood inside the stadium.

KFUM Strike Again Before the Whistle

Any hope of a turnaround was quickly extinguished when Håkon Helland Hoseth, assisted by Jonas Hjorth, restored KFUM Oslo's lead in the second minute of added time — making it 1-2 at the break. It was a crushing blow for the home side and their supporters, who had dared to believe an equaliser might spark a comeback.

In the second half, Sarpsborg 08 pushed forward and were more competitive, but the Oslo side sealed the three points through Julian Bakkeli Gonstad in the 73rd minute, assisted by B. Njie, to complete a 3-1 victory. The match was refereed by Jørgen Haugen.

Frustration in the Stands

The result is a setback for Sarpsborg 08 in their Eliteserien campaign, with the side sitting ninth in the table following the defeat. KFUM Oslo, who came into the match as slight underdogs, climbed to tenth on the back of the win.

The official club website described it as a "heavy Friday evening at the stadium," noting that after a weak first half, the team showed more fight in the second period — but ultimately it was not enough to prevent a home loss in front of their loyal supporters at Sarpsborg Stadion.
