KFUM Oslo Silence Sarpsborg Stadion with Commanding 3-1 Victory

KFUM Oslo claimed a convincing 3-1 win at Sarpsborg Stadion in Eliteserien Round 22, scoring twice in first-half stoppage time to overturn a brief home equaliser. A third goal midway through the second half sealed a deserved three points for the visitors, leaving Sarpsborg 08 with another disappointing home defeat.

KFUM Oslo Take Control Early

Sarpsborg Stadion was buzzing with anticipation for a Friday-night Eliteserien clash in Round 22, but the home supporters were silenced early when KFUM Oslo struck first. Bjørn Martin Kristensen opened the scoring in the 24th minute, assisted by Martin Tangen Vinjor, to give the visitors a shock lead.

Sarpsborg 08 hit back before the interval, with Daniel Karlsbakk converting a penalty in the first minute of added time to level the score. The equaliser gave the home faithful hope heading into the dressing room, but KFUM Oslo restored their advantage almost immediately — Håkon Helland Hoseth netting in the second minute of stoppage time, assisted by Jonas Hjorth, to make it 2-1 at the break.

Second Half Seals the Visitors' Win

Sarpsborg 08 came out for the second half needing a response, but it was KFUM Oslo who delivered the decisive blow. Julian Bakkeli Gonstad added a third goal on 73 minutes, assisted by Bilal Njie, to effectively end the contest and secure all three points for the Oslo side.

The final whistle confirmed a 3-1 defeat for Sarpsborg 08 in front of their home supporters — a result that will sting, particularly given the manner of the half-time turnaround. Referee Jørgen Haugen oversaw a match that produced four goals in a pulsating Eliteserien encounter at Sarpsborg Stadion.

A Tough Night at the Fortress

The result continues a difficult run of home form for Sarpsborg 08, who had already dropped points at Sarpsborg Stadion earlier in September, conceding a late leveller to Vålerenga in a 2-2 draw. KFUM Oslo, meanwhile, showed why they are a genuine force in the 2026 Eliteserien campaign, dispatching the home side with clinical efficiency.

For the Sarpsborg 08 coaching staff and supporters, the focus must now turn to arresting a run of results that has seen the team struggle to protect leads and maintain home advantage at their Haftor Joenssonsgata ground.
