Sarpsborg 08 FF returned to Sarpsborg Stadion for the first time since late July, only to suffer a 2–1 Eliteserien defeat to Sandefjord Fotball in Round 18. The loss came despite strong away form, but the stadium's busiest home spell of the 2026 season was only just getting started.

After an extended absence from home that stretched back to late July, Sarpsborg 08 FF finally welcomed fans back through the gates of Sarpsborg Stadion on Sunday 16 August for a Round 18 Eliteserien clash against Sandefjord Fotball.
The match was the first of three home fixtures lined up across three consecutive weeks — the most intense home programme the stadium has seen all year.
Sandefjord take all three points
Despite the pre-match momentum generated by Sarpsborg 08's 2–1 away win against league leaders Viking FK at Lyse Arena just the week before, the home side could not convert that form into a positive result on their own turf.
Sandefjord left Sarpsborg Stadion with a 2–1 victory, a blow for the home faithful but one that did little to dampen the atmosphere surrounding an already packed stadium calendar.
Sarpsborg 08 currently sit ninth in the Eliteserien standings with 22 points from 17 matches.
What comes next at Sarpsborg Stadion
The defeat was quickly followed by a Norwegian Football Cup derby against local rivals Sparta Sarpsborg, scheduled for 22–23 August — a fixture that historically lifts the temperature inside the 7,500-capacity ground considerably.
Rounding off the three-week home run is an Eliteserien clash against Vålerenga on 7 September. Tickets for upcoming fixtures are on sale through the club's official channels.
Sarpsborg Stadion features a 105×68-metre artificial pitch and continues to serve as one of the focal points of football life in the city this autumn.
