Sarpsborg Stadion is back in the spotlight this Sunday as Sarpsborg 08 FF host Sandefjord Fotball in Round 18 of the Eliteserien. Kick-off is set for 17:00, and it marks the team's first home outing since July — a gap that has only sharpened supporter appetite for a return to the terraces.
The fixture comes on the back of two consecutive away trips to Molde and Viking, making Sunday's return to Sarpsborg Stadion one of the most anticipated home dates of the season.
Viking Scalp Raises the Stakes
The mood around the club is buoyant after Sarpsborg 08 claimed a narrow Eliteserien victory over league leaders Viking FK at Lyse Arena on 8 August. That result, combined with a 3–3 draw at Aker Stadion against Molde the week before, has kept the side firmly in mid-table contention — currently sitting eighth in the Eliteserien with 22 points from 16 matches.
Sandefjord, sitting 13th in the table, arrive in Sarpsborg needing points of their own, which promises a competitive and urgent encounter at the 7,500-capacity stadium.

Sunday's league clash is just the opening act in the busiest home spell of Sarpsborg Stadion's 2026 calendar. On 22–23 August, the ground hosts a Norwegian Football Cup first-round tie against local rivals Sparta Sarpsborg — a city derby that rarely fails to raise the temperature inside the stands.
