The visitors struck first through Bjørn Martin Kristensen in the 24th minute, and though Sarpsborg 08 levelled from the penalty spot through Daniel Karlsbakk deep into first-half stoppage time, KFUM Oslo immediately restored their advantage through Håkon Helland Hoseth just a minute later to lead 2-1 at the break.
The second half offered little respite for the home side. Julian Bakkeli Gonstad added a third for the Oslo club on 73 minutes to seal the points and send the travelling support into celebration.
Hosts Dominated in Possession but Beaten on the Scoreboard
Despite the defeat, Sarpsborg 08 were not without effort. The hosts dominated possession with 57 percent of the ball and registered 18 total shots — compared to KFUM Oslo's eight — as well as winning 11 corners to the visitors' one. However, KFUM's goalkeeper was equal to the task, making five saves, while Sarpsborg's keeper was beaten three times from just three shots on target.

For KFUM Oslo, it was a statement performance away from home, with their top scorer Bilal Njie providing an assist for Gonstad's decisive third goal. Sarpsborg Stadion, with a capacity of 8,022, was just under half full on the night, with just shy of 4,000 supporters witnessing the 3-1 reverse.
