KFUM Oslo drew first blood in the 24th minute through Bjørn Martin Kristensen, assisted by M. Vinjor. Sarpsborg 08 levelled matters from the penalty spot in first-half stoppage time through Daniel Karlsbakk, but KFUM hit back almost immediately — Håkon Helland Hoseth restoring the visitors' lead in the second minute of added time, assisted by Jonas Hjorth, to send the teams into the break with the score at 1-2.
KFUM Seal the Win in the Second Half
The second half saw Sarpsborg 08 press for an equaliser, but it was KFUM Oslo who put the game beyond doubt. Julian Bakkeli Gonstad, assisted by Bilal Njie, netted in the 73rd minute to make it 3-1, sealing the points for the Oslo side.
Despite dominating possession — holding 57% of the ball — and registering 18 shots to KFUM's 8, Sarpsborg 08 were unable to find a way through. The home side also enjoyed 11 corners to their opponents' one, underlining just how one-sided the territorial battle was even as the scoreline went the other way.
A Tough Pill to Swallow on Home Turf
The result will sting for Sarpsborg 08 and their supporters, given the team's clear statistical superiority throughout the match. Referee J. Haugen oversaw a game that also saw yellow cards for Bjørn Inge Utvik (Sarpsborg, 34') and Kristensen (KFUM, 42').
